Updates

Private preview of new allocations capabilities in Microsoft Sustainability Manager

We're releasing a private preview of new allocations capabilities in Microsoft Sustainability Manager. This feature allows you to allocate emissions dynamically within the calculation model using reference data like facility production or facility capacities.

If you're interested in participating in the Microsoft Sustainability Manager: Allocations preview program, fill out the Preview sign-up form.

Deprecation of Product category table

Product category table is deprecated and migrated to the Sustainability product category table, which has the exact same columns. The references from the Sustainability product table are also migrated, and the Power BI reports, forms, and views are updated.

If you made any customizations on the Product category entity, we recommend that you migrate them to the Sustainability product category table.

For more information, go to Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability data model overview.

Calculation profile set up contains new filter page

When you add a calculation profile, the step for filtering source data now appears on a new Filter source data pane instead of in the Calculation profile setup pane.

Fixes

Scope 2 filtering changes might require recreating custom dashboards

With the December 2024 (2.26) release of Sustainability Manager, we changed the Power BI filter methodology for Accounting method. This change affects the scope 2 filtering on all custom dashboards created before this version. To resolve this issue, first take note of any customizations you made, and then delete and recreate any custom dashboards that you created before the December 2024 release.

For more information about custom dashboards, go to Customize analytics dashboards.

Enhanced query handling in Power Query connectors

We resolved an issue where users encountered a "Bad Request - Error in query syntax" message while creating imports using Power Query connectors. Improperly formatted queries being generated during the process caused this issue. The fix ensures that queries are validated before running, provides more descriptive error messages, and improves query handling to prevent syntax-related failures. You can now successfully create imports without experiencing syntax errors.

Improved ownership transfer for data imports

We improved ownership transfer for data imports, allowing any user with the necessary data ingestion privileges to change the connection owner, regardless of admin status. This fix also removes the misleading "Unable to change owner import" message that appeared incorrectly and enhances the reliability of ownership transfers. You can now seamlessly transfer connections with clear role requirements and improved system feedback.

Enabled refresh settings for Power Query-based imports

We fixed an issue where the refresh settings UI didn't appear when creating or updating Power Query-based imports, preventing users from enabling Import data automatically. This fix ensures that the refresh settings are now visible and selectable, allowing you to schedule data imports seamlessly and improving automation reliability.
