Updates

External reporting in Microsoft Sustainability Manager is generally available

External reporting in Sustainability Manager enables your organization to collaboratively create voluntary and regulatory disclosure reports across a range of standards and frameworks. Approval and audit workflows help your organization ensure compliance and data accuracy. With these features, external reporting in Sustainability Manager reduces complexity, enhances efficiency, and provides greater transparency for ESG reporting.

You can find full documentation and tutorials at Overview of external reporting in Microsoft Sustainability Manager.

The analytics dashboards extensibility feature is generally available

With this feature, you can create customized versions of built-in insights pages across emissions, water, and waste. To learn how to customize your dashboards, go to Customize analytics dashboards.

You can now use the 2024 NEEFE update to calculate emissions

With Sustainability Manager, you can effortlessly import emission factors from various authoritative sources, including the National and European Emission Factors for Electricity (NEEFE). Sustainability Manager incorporates the 2024 NEEFE update to allow organizations and individuals to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions using the activity-based (IPCC) and life-cycle (LC) approaches.

The NEEFE factors are essential components for calculating and managing the environmental impact of electricity consumption within the European Union. They provide a standardized set of emission factors that can be used for obligatory reporting and risk assessment for financial institutions, as well as for calculating product carbon footprints (PCFs) and other environmental metrics.

For information about using emission factor sets, go to Configure emission factors.

Premium license now includes 2,000 authenticated Microsoft Power Pages users

Microsoft Sustainability Manager Premium includes 2,000 authenticated Microsoft Power Pages users. This addition facilitates usage of the ESG value chain solution, which requires a Premium license.

Calculation error records are deleted after 30 days

Previously, calculation errors were only deleted if you rerun a calculation. Now error records are automatically deleted if they're older than 30 days. For more information about running, viewing, and retrying calculation jobs, go to Create calculation profiles.

Fixes

Support for negative revenue values

We resolved an issue in reference data where the Organizational unit revenue table didn't accept negative revenue values. While uncommon, certain units might report negative net revenue for specific periods. This field now supports negative values, ensuring accurate reporting and accommodating all valid revenue scenarios.

Intelligent insights model runs are canceled if they don't complete in 24 hours

Intermittently, intelligent insights model runs got stuck in a pending state. This fix resolves that issue by canceling the model run if it doesn't complete within 24 hours. You can then either wait for next month's results or get the results sooner by going into the settings and changing the model run date.

Continued improvements in ingestion efficiency

Continuing our efforts to enhance data ingestion performance, we streamlined the deletion of previously imported data, enabling the removal of 1,000,000 records in under 40 minutes during testing. Record creation is also accelerated, with the ability to create 1,000,000 records in less than 20 minutes. In addition, the improved ingestion pipeline optimizes Dataverse resources more effectively, delivering greater throughput. These improvements further optimize the ingestion process for faster, more efficient sustainability data management.

Fixed PowerFx issue in calculations for Account

We identified an issue where calculations using PowerFx expressions in the Revenue - Calculation action encounter errors due to missing or unavailable values, particularly when Account attributes of type Currency are involved. We resolved this issue by adding support for marshaling Currency types into PowerFx types, ensuring that these attributes are correctly processed. We also changed the marshaling process to avoid failing the entire record when one attribute fails. This change reduces the impact of individual attribute errors on the overall calculation, allowing calculations to proceed even if some attributes aren't included in the PowerFx expression.

Copilot Studio templates

EU CBAM Estimator Agent is available in preview

EU CBAM Estimator is an extensible prebuilt agent that helps you to understand and comply with the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) regulations in the European Union (EU). It's relevant for businesses involved in supply chain, sustainability, or IT sectors that operate within or export to the EU. CBAM aims to reduce carbon leakage by leveling the playing field for EU and non-EU businesses, ensuring that imported goods are subject to the same carbon pricing as goods produced within the EU. Find out more about this Copilot Studio template at EU CBAM Estimator (preview).
