New Features
Cloud connectors in Power Automate for desktop are now generally available through the Connectors tab in the Assets library. Premium users can now add and use all non-custom Power Automate connectors and their operations in desktop flows, enjoying direct integration with multiple Microsoft and third-party services.
The action ‘Get credential’ has now been introduced under the new module ‘Power Automate secret variables’ in preview, offering direct integration with CyberArk credentials, which can be retrieved and used in desktop flow actions out of the box.
Enhancements & Improvements
Cross-domain iframe elements are now also supported in Internet Explorer mode of the Edge browser.
In the action ‘Update work queue item’, a new ‘Input’ parameter is now available to change or edit the payload of the work queue item, as well as a new ‘[Unchanged]’ status that does not change the status of the item.
An improvement has taken place on the action ‘Extract data from table’, to become more reliable when scrolling is involved to extract all the rows. The action has also been updated to extract tables from SAP GUI more efficiently.
The ‘Help > About’ window now includes more information for troubleshooting purposes.
When using Record with Copilot, an option to send feedback is now available, if the post processing of the Copilot recording fails.
The environment loading and execution logs shipping times have been reduced to improve performance.
Caching has been introduced for retrieving environments in the console to improve performance and reliability.
In Power Fx flows, the ‘Loop condition’ action has now been updated, so that a single Power Fx expression is used, and its Boolean result is used as an output.
In Power Fx flows, certain action parameter tooltips have now been updated to indicate 0-based indexing where applicable, as exceptions to the general 1-based indexing rule that applies to Power Fx.
Repaired Functionality
The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:
The flow size limit that is enforced in the designer during flow saving has now been updated, to reflect the new limit of 16M characters from the previous one of 10MB.
Some exceptions which may occur when using Record with Copilot have now been addressed.
Certain exceptions, occurring during flow loading for users with free Microsoft accounts in OneDrive, are now handled showing the proper error messages.
An issue due to which a flow couldn’t be saved, if a UI element happened to be captured without its screenshot, has now been resolved.
An issue causing invalid operation exceptions when retrieving the environments list has now been resolved.
An unhandled exception that might occur after deleting multiple flows and refreshing the console has now been resolved.
Moving an action up or down using the corresponding keyboard shortcut now scrolls the actions list as expected, keeping the action in focus.
Tooltips are now used to display long subflow names in the Find usages and Errors list panes.
When creating a new subflow, the options of the context menu after right clicking in its workspace are no longer initially disabled.
When a disabled action has error handling applied, its shield icon in the actions workspace now also becomes disabled.
When the environment doesn’t allow unmanaged customizations, the appropriate error message is now displayed, when trying to save a desktop flow belonging to that environment.
A transport-level exception that might occur during flow saving in schema v2 has now been addressed.
An issue with the ‘Filter data table’ action, where the single quote symbol (') was treated as an escape character, has now been resolved.
In Power Fx flows, evaluating a Power Fx expression no longer ignores multiple errors or warnings, in case there are more than one.
The following actions that were introduced in the previous version now work as expected:
- SharePoint
- Grant access to an item or a folder
- Send an HTTP Request to SharePoint
- Microsoft Teams
- Send a Microsoft Graph HTTP Request
- Office 365 Outlook
- Send an HTTP Request
- SharePoint
In Power Fx flows, untyped variables are now properly handled in ‘For each’ loops.
An issue with the caching of some preloaded connectors by the console has now been resolved, to avoid negative impact on designer initialization.
When a custom module was created with an action that contains a custom object as input or output parameter, from version 2.47 and earlier, that action no longer fails at runtime, as it did in versions 2.48 and 2.49.
The warning message that is displayed in the ‘Repair selector’ functionality, when a variable is used even if it’s not part of the selector, has now been updated properly.
An issue with the action ‘Take screenshot of web page’, capturing many window elements instead of the entire web page, has now been resolved.
The issue with some errors occurring upon recorder completion is now resolved.
An issue related to communication with the web extension's native message host failing has now been resolved.
An issue with the ‘Populate text field on web page’ action not working properly in IE, when physical keystrokes are enabled, has now been resolved.
The Copilot recorder now properly captures SAP and Java elements.
