To capture a performance

  1. If necessary, select an audiopath in the Audiopath list that contains the FileOutput DMO. See File Output in an Audiopath.
  2. To export to a wave file, click the Set Wave Filename button and choose a directory where the exported file will be saved.
    or, to export to a MIDI file, click the Set MIDI Filename button and choose a directory where the exported file will be saved.
  3. Type a name in the File Name box and then click Save.
  4. To insert a silent measure in a MIDI file, right-click the Start or Stop Export to MIDI File button to display the Set MIDI Export Start Time Dialog Box, select Save Lead-in Measure, and click OK.
  5. Click the Start or Stop Export to Wave File button, or the Start or Stop Export to MIDI File button. If you are exporting both a wave file and a MIDI file, click the Start or Stop Export to MIDI File button first, and then click the Start or Stop Export to Wave File button.
  6. Use the Transport Controls and Secondary Segment Toolbar to begin playback of components.
  7. When the performance is finished, click the Stop Immediate button, or the Stop button. MIDI recording stops automatically.
  8. Click the Start or Stop Export to Wave File button to end recording of the wave file.
