Getting "Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application" error.

Good afternoon:

Any time I try to go to security.microsoft.com or compliance.microsoft.com and log in, I'm greeted with a "Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application" error. The same account credentials log me into portal.azure.com and office.com just fine.

    Any update on this?? Im facing similar error when log in into Azure portal 

      "errorMessage": "AADSTS16000: User account '{EmailHidden}' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application 'xxxxxx'(Azure Portal) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.,

    I am facing a similar problem when I am working on a word-document.

    1. I open the document from my business onedrive folder.
    2. i have auto-save ticked on.
    3. on the left right I see my user picture and when I open it it says that there is an error in the account: my account cannot be opened right now and therefore i need to sign in.. [either way, the document is still auto-saving in my business onedrive account]
    4. when i hit sign-in I get a pop-up screen with a list of my business e-mail address, followed by 2 other organisation addresses: I used to work for them and they gave me a user account, which I was using with the offices 365 that i already have installed on my laptop. I am not working for them any more and don't need access to those addresses.
    5. when I click on my own business account to sign in, I get the Selected user account does not exist in tenant [one of the two organisations] and cannot access the application" error.

    question:

    • how/where do I remove those two old addresses from my system?

    I am having the same problem in Visual Studio 2022 with Intellicode not being able to connect:
    "Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '04f0c124-f2bc-4f59-8241-bf6df9866bbd' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account."

    Any idea how to resolve this?

    I too have just suddenly got this problem - so this issue has been going on for over a year now and no reply from any one at microsoft to explain how to fix it?

    I am also suddenly getting this problem and error message when trying to sign in to Teams.

    'Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '1fec8e78-bce4-4aaf-ab1b-5451cc387264' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.'

    I can't see an answer to any of the previous messages, but would love to find a solution if possible.
