Change priority of file rules

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To change priority of file rules

Open Remote Storage.
In the console tree, double-click Remote Storage, and then click Managed Volumes.
In the details pane, right-click the applicable volume, and then click Include/Exclude Rules.
On the Include/Exclude Rules tab, select the applicable rule.
Click the UP ARROW to give the rule a higher priority.

Or click the DOWN ARROW to give the rule a lower priority.

Notes

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.
To open Remote Storage, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Remote Storage.
The position of a file rule on the list determines which rule is applied first. Remote Storage applies the first rule on the list that matches a file in a given folder.
There are a number of predefined rules provided when Remote Storage is first set up. You cannot move some of these predefined rules up or down the list. You can however, move all rules that you define up or down the list.
