Configuring the HPC Basic Profile Web Service

The HPC Basic Profile Web Service is installed by default on the head node of your cluster, but the service is not started by default. You can configure, activate, and start the HPC Basic Profile Web Service by using a PowerShell script that is provided with Microsoft® HPC Pack 2008. After the HPC Basic Profile Web Service has been configured and started, you can monitor it by using the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) logging features.
