Static Configuration
During static configuration, Unimodem sets the D channel protocol (switch type) and associated information (EAZ, MSN, Directory Number, and SPID) using information defined in the modem INF file add-registry-sections and entered by the user through the modem configuration interface.
Unimodem stores the information in the modem's NVRAM by issuing AT commands. The AT commands issued are specified in the ISDN\NvSave registry entry. Because the information is stored in the modem's NVRAM, there is no need for the information to be reissued to the modem prior to each call. The information is reissued to the modem at startup and following any user-applied change to the switch type or B channel identification information (directory number, MSN, SPID, EAZ).
A ten-second delay following the issuing of the ISDN\NvSave entry allows the ISDN network to be reset (that is, it allows the D channel to reset and enable change of D channel protocol).

You should omit entries of type ISDN\SwitchType if your ISDN modem meets either of the following requirements:
Modem does not require static configuration of the SPID/MSN/EAZ/Directory Number.
D channel configuration information is provided through an alternate configuration interface (for example, a vendor supplied or third-party interface).
