Remarks

GetEdmPrimitiveType returns the model equivalent type for this type, For example, if this instance is nvarchar and its base type is a conceptual model string, then the return type is a conceptual model string.

If the type is actually already a model type, then the return type is "this".

GetEdmPrimitiveType(PrimitiveTypeKind)

Returns the equivalent EdmType of a PrimitiveType.
