Short Message Service (SMS) Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables (Compact 2013)
3/26/2014
In Windows Embedded Compact, you can add support for Short Message Service (SMS) so that a user can use a Windows Embedded Compact powered device to send or receive SMS messages, such as text messages and vCards, or XML provisioning data over Wireless Application Protocol (WAP).
For more information about how to add or remove catalog items, see Create Your First OS.
Hardware and Software Requirements
- Requires a cellular radio on the hardware board.
- Requires RIL Proxy (SYSGEN_CELLCORE_RIL) and SIM Manager (SYSGEN_CELLCORE_SIM). For more information, see Cellular Radio (CellCore) Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
- For vCards or XML provisioning data, also requires WAP (SYSGEN_CELLCORE_WAP).
