This function sets the default size and position of the software-based input panel (SIP) window.

Syntax

BOOL SipSetDefaultRect( 
  RECT* pRect
);

Parameters

  • pRect
    [in] Pointer to a RECT structure.

Return Value

TRUE indicates success. FALSE indicates failure. To get extended error information, call GetLastError.

Remarks

The default size and position do not take effect until the application loads a new IM.

This function does not require that the SIP environment be loaded in order to complete successfully. Therefore, a call to SipSetDefaultRect does not initialize the SIP environment. The SIP environment is initialized by the first function called that needs a loaded input environment. All SIP functions initialize the SIP environment except SipEnumIM, SipStatus, SipSetDefaultRect, and SipRegisterNotification.
