It's closed

Further to my earlier post, the Customer Preview Program for Windows Vista beta 2 is now closed. If you received your product key before the closure, see http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx for details of how to complete your download. But as mentioned previously, you need to do this before July 14th.

And as the site explains: "Participants will receive an e-mail message with additional information when Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 (RC1) is available later this year".

I already activated my copy of Windows Vista Beta 2, but I'm going to be doing a bit of reconfiguration on the 5th, which may involve me doing a fresh install on that date. Do I have to worry about not being able to activate my key again when I reinstall? If I do a fresh install between now and some arbitrary point in the future before the beta expires, do I have to worry about not being able to activate this key I've already activated before?

    Thanks.

John - As far as I know, activation on Vista is pretty much the same model as XP ie as long as your hardware doesn't change substantially you're ok.

If your hardware does change substantially (you mentioned some "reconfiguration") then you may find it won't let you reactivate. Drop me an email if this happens and I'll do what I can to help.
