Get Vista beta 2 before we stop downloads/orders
Update: The program will close on Friday June 30th 2006
In case you weren't aware, we are only providing a limited number of copies of Windows Vista Beta 2 - either download or physical copies - and we're fast approaching the cut-off point.
What this means is - if you want to get a copy, get it now (and I mean now). Visit www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/engb and either download or order. Because WE WILL BE WITHDRAWING ACCESS VERY SOON. Did I say that loudly enough?
Here are a few tips:
a) If you're downloading, make sure you start the download today, even if you interrupt it. You'll be able to continue your download after the cut-off happens (at least until July 14th, when even that facility will be withdrawn).
b) Make sure you get your product key
c) When you've installed it, make sure you activate. We may be able to provide people who have activated copies with future...stuff. I'm being vague because I need to be, just trust me and make sure you activate.
The take-up of beta 2 has been incredible - we've been blown away by the level of interest and the number of people downloading and ordering it. Make sure you're one of the people to get it.
Oh and you may be wondering about Office 2007. There's been a similar level of interest in Office, but my IW colleagues are letting it run on for the time being, ie they're not showing signs of cutting it off yet. We're also cover-mounting it on a number of magazines in the UK so look out for that if you don't fancy the download.
And a final PS: You probably reaslise you can get Windows Vista beta 2 from other Microsoft sites, however if you get it via the link I posted above (the "beta experience" link) we will be able to provide you with future developer-related content. And of course, it's being withdrawn from all areas of the site, not just the beta experience area. So when it's gone, it's really gone.

John - you can download the software but you won’t get a key (required during install). In order to get a key you will have needed to register before the cut-off. This download facility that you’re referring to will be terminated on July 14th, it’s there to allow people to complete downloads if they already have a key.Anonymous
July 10, 2006
As John Lamansky mentioned above, you can still download from here http://download.windowsvista.com/preview/beta2/en/x86/download.htm.
You will need a key to install it though

Hi - I managed to get a Windows Vista Beta 2 product key from the site, but never completed the download. Now that the trial period is over, I cannot download the ISO file. I have tried copying another persons' Beta2 download (after all, it was provided as a free download to the public!) and using my key during the install, but it fails. Any ideas as to how to get this to work without using my friends' product key - send info to darren.slaughter@gmail.com - thanksAnonymous
