[MEMO] OSS アプリを Web Application Gallery に登録する (1) 概要
OSS アプリを Web Application Gallery に登録すると、Web Platform Installer (Web PI) でインストールできるようになり、OSS アプリのインストールが飛躍的に簡単になります。今回は、Web Application Gallery の登録概要についてご紹介申し上げます。
■ Web Platform Installer による Web Application Gallery 登録アプリのインストール範囲
下記はIISに OSS アプリをインストールする手順と Web PI が実施してくれる範囲を示したものです。通常、IIS に OSS アプリ をインストールする場合、環境構築や設定を行うのですがこれが大きな手間になります。しかし、 Web PI を使用する事でその手間を省く事ができます。もちろん、アプリのインストール部分も Web PI に実行させることも可能ですが、その場合は アプリをかなりカスタマイズする必要があるので現実的ではありません。すなわち、Web PI は OSS アプリのインストーラーを起動する前までの作業を行ってくれるツールという位置づけになります。
■ Web Application Gallery の正体
Web Application Gallery に登録された OSS アプリケーションは XML ファイル形式にてマイクロソフトの Web サイトに配置されております。 Web PI はこの XML データもとに OSS アプリケーションの動作に必要な環境の構築と OSS アプリケーションのインストールを行います。
登録された アプリケーションの例として、Wordpress 3.1 英語版の内容を下記に記載します。ここで申し上げたい点としては、 Web Application Gallery には Web PI でインストールするために必要な全ての情報が記載されている事です。ここの XML データは、Web Application Gallery に登録が完了した時点で自動的に生成されるものになりますので、手動で作成いただく事はございません。

■ Web Application Gallery への登録要件
登録要件は下記になります。マイクロソフトの Web サイト上にパッケージを配置すると誤解されますが、実際はOSS アプリのパッケージ申請者の Web サイトに配置いただく事になります。
＜OSS アプリの要件＞
- フリーの OSS Web アプリケーション
- 現行バージョンのものが望ましい
- OSS アプリのパッケージ申請者の Web サイトに配置可能
- エンドユーザーからの問い合わせにご対応可能
- ASP.NET (2.0 / 3.5 / 4) もしくは PHP (5.2 or 5.3) に対応
- SQL Server 2008 R2、MySQL 5.1 、SQL Server Compact のいずれかに対応
対応する IIS のバージョンは下記になります。IIS Express は IIS 7.5 ベースとなっておりますので、IIS 7.x と IIS 6.0 にインストール可能である必要があります。URL Rewrite (Apache の mode_rewrite) の機能が IIS 6.0 にはありませんので、URL Rewrite がインストールに必須の場合は登録要件を満たせない可能性があります。ご注意ください。
また、IIS Express に対応する場合は、WebMatrix の発行機能に対応する必要があります。こちらは別の機会にご説明したいと思います。
