IEnumPrivacyRecords::GetPrivacyImpacted method

Gets a Boolean value that indicates whether a Web site's attempted cookie actions conflict with the user's privacy settings.

Syntax

HRESULT GetPrivacyImpacted(
  [out] BOOL *pState
);

Parameters

pState [out]

A BOOL value that specifies whether privacy has been impacted.

(True)

Privacy has been impacted

(False)

Privacy has not been impacted

Return value

If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.

Remarks

IEnumPrivacyRecords::GetPrivacyImpacted was introduced in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.

If the status bar is present and the privacy icon is displayed in the status bar, this method returns True. Otherwise, it returns False. These return values can also be set and retrieved when the status bar is not displayed.

Privacy is impacted when a requested cookie action conflicts with the user's privacy settings. Privacy remains impacted until the user initiates a top-level movement from the current URL.
