Send Feedback

Using the Enterprise Web Pad image on a CEPC or Emulator that you created and downloaded, you can obtain a certificate from a Windows 2000 Certificate Server.

To obtain a certificate

  1. From the Start menu of the CEPC device, choose Run.

    - or -

From the Start menu of the Emulator on your development workstation, choose Run.

  2. In the Run dialog box, type enroll -s<Server Name>, where <Server Name> is the name of a certificate server on the Windows XP network, then choose OK.

Note   Do not use a space between -s and <Server Name>.

If the Windows CE client does not have the user credentials stored on it, a Windows logon dialog box appears.

The -s option with Enroll.exe causes the application to ignore the Enroll.cfg file.

  3. Type your Windows networking user name, domain, and password, and then choose OK.

If you get a dialog box asking about a root store, choose YES. The Root Certificate Store dialog appears. You can specify if you want to add this Certificate Authority (CA) as a trusted CA. Choose Yes. The root certificate will be added to the Root Store as a part of trusted authorities.

  4. The Enrollment Tool dialog box appears with the message Cert Has Been Added Successfully. Choose OK. Your user certificate has been successfully added to the certificate store.

  5. To close the dialog box, choose OK.

To verify your new certificate, see Verifying the Existence of a Certificate.
