Establishing a Connection to a Target Device with ActiveSync (Windows CE 5.0)
If the Windows CE OS on the target device includes an Ethernet driver, ensure that the Ethernet driver and ActiveSync are configured so that their Internet Protocol (IP) addresses are on different subnets. If the Ethernet driver and ActiveSync share the same subnet, the target device uses Ethernet as the default route for communications. This setup causes the connection between the development workstation and the target device over ActiveSync to fail.
To establish a connection to a target device with ActiveSync
On your development workstation, install ActiveSync 3.5 or later.
Connect a null modem or crossover cable from your development workstation to your target device.
Download a run-time image to your target device.
On your target device, start Repllog.exe.
Note To add the Repllog.exe executable to the target device, you must include ActiveSync in the OS design for your run-time image.
On your desktop computer, choose Get Connected from the File menu of the ActiveSync window.
After you establish a connection to your target device, choose Guest.
Open a remote tool, and then use Platform Manager to establish a connection.
