Copying Code in the Code Librarian Viewer

You can insert code snippets into your project by copying the code item text into the clipboard or by a drag-and-drop method.

To copy code from the Code Librarian Viewer

  1. Select the code snippet from the Code Librarian Viewer explorer or Search Results window. If you only want to copy a portion of a code snippet, you can select only a portion of the code snippet you would like to copy. When a selection is made, the Copy function is enabled.

  2. From Edit menu, select Copy.

    Select the Copy button from the toolbar.

  3. The selected code snippet text is copied into the clipboard. Paste the item from the clipboard to your desired text editor location.

To drag and drop code from the Code Librarian Viewer

  1. Select the icon in the Code Librarian Viewer explorer of the code snippet you want to copy or highlight the code snippet text in the Code Item Viewer window.

  2. Drag your selected code item or text into a text editor field with your mouse or pointing device. Release the mouse or pointing device to drop the selected code text into a text editor.

    **Note   **Dragging and dropping code snippets into Microsoft Notepad is not supported.
