Windows Vista Hardware Assessment (WVHA)

Windows Vista Hardware Assessment provides detailed analysis into how Vista will run on the hardware within your organization. Run from one machine with the appropriate credentials, the tool will scan all hardware on the network and produce reports telling IT managers exactly which components within individual PCs must be upgraded in order to make them Vista Capable or Vista Premium.

This can help to reduce the spend on upgrades as it show very clearly which individual components need to be upgraded for a system to be capable of running Vista.  Now you know which parts of a machine to upgrade rather than the whole thing.

WVHA can be run on any OS that supports Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). This includes the following operating systems:

  • Windows Vista (already migrated)
  • Windows XP® Professional (SP2)
  • Windows Server 2003™ or Windows Server 2003 R2.
  • Windows 2000 Professional or Windows 2000 Server
