How to Unpack the Data Warehouse Resource

This topic provides steps for unpacking the Data Warehouse resource and adding it to the Web site that you unpacked on the business management server. The Data Warehouse resource is unpacked from the DW example PuP package (DW.pup).

Note

If you are using SQL Server 2005, you must install the SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer Components on the business management server before you unpack the Data Warehouse resource. You install the SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer Components on SQL Server 2005 only. For information about how to install the SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer Components, see How to Install SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer Components.

Note

If you cancel the unpacking process, Commerce Server 2009 may not delete the databases that you created during the unpacking process.

Note

When unpacking the Data Warehouse PuP files, the time zone is typically inherited from the SQL Server settings. However, if this information is not set correctly or is not correct for the Data Warehouse instance that you are installing, you must set the time zone manually. To set the time zone manually for Data Warehouse, open the Properties tab in the Data Warehouse Global Resource, and then click the Time tab. You can then set the time zone and starting day of the week manually. Any changes to the time zone will be in effect only for new imports. Existing data is not affected. To update existing data with the new time zone information, you must import the data again.
