Working with Application Pools and Web Applications

This section provides instructions about how to create and configure application pools for securing the Commerce Server 2009 Web applications. The Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) worker process is determined by the application pool to which the Web application belongs. You must assign the appropriate permissions to the IIS worker process accounts for users to have access to the Web applications.

The application pool requirements are different depending on whether you are configuring a business management server or production Web server. For step-by-step procedures, see What are the Requirements for Application Pools and the IIS Worker Process Group?.
