ListView.OnItemUpdated(ListViewUpdatedEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the ItemUpdated event.

protected:
 virtual void OnItemUpdated(System::Web::UI::WebControls::ListViewUpdatedEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnItemUpdated (System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListViewUpdatedEventArgs e);
abstract member OnItemUpdated : System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListViewUpdatedEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnItemUpdated : System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListViewUpdatedEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnItemUpdated (e As ListViewUpdatedEventArgs)

Parameters

e
ListViewUpdatedEventArgs

The event data.

Remarks

The ItemUpdated event is raised when an item's Update button is clicked or the UpdateItem method is called, after the ListView control updates the item. (An Update button is a button control whose CommandName property is set to "Update".) This enables you to perform a custom routine whenever this event occurs, such as checking the results of the update operation.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnItemUpdated method also enables derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When you override OnItemUpdated(ListViewUpdatedEventArgs) in a derived class, call the base class's OnItemUpdated(ListViewUpdatedEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
