Definition

Raises the ItemCommand event.

protected:
 virtual void OnItemCommand(System::Web::UI::WebControls::DetailsViewCommandEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnItemCommand (System.Web.UI.WebControls.DetailsViewCommandEventArgs e);
abstract member OnItemCommand : System.Web.UI.WebControls.DetailsViewCommandEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnItemCommand : System.Web.UI.WebControls.DetailsViewCommandEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnItemCommand (e As DetailsViewCommandEventArgs)

Parameters

e
DetailsViewCommandEventArgs

A DetailsViewCommandEventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

The OnItemCommand method is called by the DetailsView control to raise the ItemCommand event. It is generally used by control developers when extending the DetailsView class.

The OnItemCommand method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnItemCommand(DetailsViewCommandEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnItemCommand(DetailsViewCommandEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
