Prepare Sustainability Manager data

To prepare data in Microsoft Sustainability Manager, you first create an assessment, and then you create a Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) report. When the CSRD report completes, you then import the data.

Note

The CSRD report is based on the May 2024 update from CSRD. When selecting this report in external reporting capability in Sustainability Manager, you also need to select the version of the standard.

Create an assessment

If you don't already have an assessment with the latest CSRD standards, you need to complete this step first.

  1. In the left navigation, select Assessments, and then select New.

  2. Complete all the fields. In the Standard field, select Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) - May 2024 (preview).

    Note

Be sure that the Period for your assessment aligns to Reporting period in external reporting in Sustainability Manager. If you need to create a new reporting period, select External reporting, select the Reporting periods tab, and then select New Range Period. Complete the information and select Save & Close.

Create a CSRD report

Before creating a CSRD report, you need to create specific goals to include in it, because these goals aggregate the data for the different metrics used in external reporting in Sustainability Manager. To learn how to set a goal, go to Create goals.

  1. Create a CSRD report. For complete instructions on how to generate a CSRD report, go to Generate a report.

    • When creating the report, ensure you select the Hierarchy as of date that corresponds with the Reporting year you select.
