(DEU) Select an XBRL taxonomy

XBRL taxonomies define the specific tags that you use for the individual items of data in reports, such as net profit. Different taxonomies are required for different types of business reporting. After your company has determined and specified which taxonomy it needs, it is downloaded from the appropriate website. A company can have only taxonomy associated with it.

XBRL represents each concept as an element that has a name. An element is an XBRL component, such as a table, domain member, and dimension.

Note

You must have the role of administrator or designer to work with XBRL taxonomies.

Select an XBRL taxonomy

  1. In Report Designer, on the XBRL menu, click Entities.

  2. To create an XBRL entity, click New.

To modify an entity, select the entity, and then click Modify.

  3. In the New XBRL Entity or the Modify XBRL Entity dialog box, click the Define button next to the Taxonomy field. The XBRL Setup Wizard opens. Use the Back and Next buttons to navigate the pages of the wizard. For information about completing the XBRL Setup Wizard, see (DEU) XBRL Setup Wizard.
