Puede cifrar secciones de un archivo de configuración para proteger la información confidencial que usa la aplicación. Esto mejora la seguridad al dificultar el acceso no autorizado incluso si un atacante obtiene acceso al archivo de configuración.
.NET incluye dos proveedores de configuración protegidos que se pueden usar para cifrar secciones de un archivo de configuración. La clase RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider usa el RSACryptoServiceProvider para cifrar las secciones de configuración. La clase DpapiProtectedConfigurationProvider usa la API de Protección de datos de Windows (DPAPI) para cifrar las secciones de configuración.
Es posible que tenga un requisito para cifrar la información confidencial mediante un algoritmo distinto de los proveedores RSA o DPAPI. En este caso, puede crear su propio proveedor de configuración protegida personalizado. El ProtectedConfigurationProvider es una clase base abstracta de la que debe heredar para crear su propio proveedor de configuración protegida.
Tanto si usa un proveedor estándar como un proveedor personalizado, debe asegurarse de que está configurado con el elemento add
en la sección providers
de la sección de configuración de configProtectedData

Nota
Cuando ASP.NET encuentra datos de configuración cifrados, realiza el descifrado de forma transparente mediante el proveedor configurado. No se requiere ninguna acción en el lado que no sea asegurarse de configurar el proveedor necesario.
