ClusResTypes.CreateItem method

[The CreateItem method is available for use in the operating systems specified in the Requirements section. It may be altered or unavailable in subsequent versions.]

Creates a new resource type in the cluster and adds it to a ClusResTypes collection.

Syntax

ClusResTypes.CreateItem( _
  ByVal strResTypeName, _
  ByVal strDisplayName, _
  ByVal strResTypeDll, _
  ByVal lLooksAlivePollInterval, _
  ByVal lIsAlivePollInterval _
)

Parameters

strResTypeName: String containing the name of the new resource type.
strDisplayName: String containing the display name of the new resource type.
strResTypeDll: String containing the file name of the library containing the new resource type.
lLooksAlivePollInterval: Length of time in milliseconds that should occur between calls to the new resource type's LooksAlive entry point function.
lIsAlivePollInterval: Length of time in milliseconds that should occur between calls to the new resource type's IsAlive entry point function.

Return value

A ClusResType object that receives the newly added resource type.

Remarks

The new resource type must be supported by a resource DLL. For more information, see Creating a Custom Resource Type.
