Agent Unable to Add IM to an Anonymous Response Group Conversation

Issue You are a Microsoft Lync 2010 response group agent and cannot add instant messaging (IM) to a conversation with an anonymous response group.
Resolution This issue occurs if you start the conversation by calling the group at its published work phone number. This happens by default if you make the call by double-clicking the response group in Microsoft Lync 2010 Attendant.
If you want to use IM in an anonymous conversation, you must start the call on behalf of the response group in Lync 2010.
