Permission Tab, Transition Property Page (SQL Server Workflow)

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

The Permissions tab displays a small grid control with the list of roles available in the database and check boxes next to each role. If you clear the check box next to a role, users in that role will not have permission to perform the transition.

On creation of a transition, all check boxes will be selected by default (all roles have permissions). Subsequently, if all existing roles have permissions, and a new role is added, then it too will have permissions (that is, the check box is selected). However, if the transition has mixed privileges, then a new role added will not have privileges (that is, the check box is not selected).

A vertical scrollbar is available if there are so many roles that they do not fit on the dialog box. When in the grid, you can use the up/down arrow buttons to navigate from row to row, with focus always being in the right column, and space bar will select or clear the box.
