Overview of Copilot in Microsoft Sustainability Manager
Important
Some or all of this functionality is available as part of a preview release. The content and the functionality are subject to change.
Note
This feature is included in Microsoft Sustainability Manager Premium.
Copilot in Microsoft Sustainability Manager uses AI to give organizations the ability to streamline and expedite several processes with the sustainability lifecycle.
Copilot brings a growing set of skills that help you complete various tasks. Here are some examples:
Analyze documents with Copilot (preview): Upload ESG-related documents and ask Copilot questions about their contents.
Create calculation models with Copilot: Describe the calculation model you'd like to create, and allow Copilot to do the rest! You need to turn on this feature through Application settings, and then you can access it through the Models page.
Generate preparation reports with Copilot: Use Copilot to generate an emissions or Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) report, simplifying the existing reporting framework. You can access report generation through the Copilot side panel.
Query data with Copilot: Ask Copilot questions about your organization's data and quickly extract the information you need, such as a particular assessment report value or an organizational unit's revenue. You can access data querying through the Copilot side panel.
Important considerations
Keep the following considerations in mind while adding or using Copilot:
Copilot is in the process of rolling out and is currently unavailable in the Germany (GER) region.
Copilot in Microsoft Sustainability Manager is powered by the Azure OpenAI Service. It's only available in English at this time.
Copilot prompts and results might move outside of your region to the Azure OpenAI Service endpoint that supports these features.
Add Copilot to your environment
To add Copilot, follow these steps:
Add copilot for app users in model-driven apps (preview).
Note
We recommend that you follow the steps in that article to set your environment to receive monthly updates for model-driven apps. Copilot still works if you set this option to Semi-annual channel, but you might have better results setting it to Monthly channel. For more information about how this option can affect your environment, go to Changing release channels for model-driven apps.
Before you can access Copilot to create calculation models in Microsoft Sustainability Manager, you must go to Settings > Application and select Yes under Generative AI for calculation models (preview).
