    Hi @Mohammad Afzaal ,

at the moment there are no official statements the list of supported CPUs will be increased. At least I haven't found any official statements so far.

You could raise your feedback in the Feedback Hub app to add the "Intel i3 6006U" to the list if possible. But there is no guarantee Microsoft will do so.

You options at the moment are:

    • Wait if the CPU will be supported (with no guarantee it will) and use your current Windows version
    • Get a device with supported CPU

I don't see any other options at the moment, sorry.

If you want to install Windows 11 on a computer that failed to upgrade from Windows 10 due to the upgrade assistant findings there are 2 options.

First: make free backup images so that if you are unhappy with Windows 11 you can return to Windows 10

    These are the 2 options:

    1) Modify the registry and files so that the Windows update assistant no longer finds problems related to the upgrade

(This has been performed by many members on other websites)

    2) Backup important files to another disk drive or the cloud > Clean install Windows 11 > restore files

(This has been performed on very old computers including desktops, laptops, and tablets)

These are some of the risks:
    a) the computer may not benefit from the significant improvements in performance and security
    b) the computer may have problems with Windows and Microsoft Defender updates

(Multiple website members reported no problems with automatic Windows or Microsoft Defender updates)

    Hello,

I understand that i3-6006U processor is not compatible for Windows 11, according to Microsoft. Atm, we don't have any information, if it will be included in list of supported processors.

I recommend you to drop a feedback to Microsoft about this, using Feedback hub app.

    Regards.

In my personal opinion, which is not official, but there is a lot of information related to it on the Internet, the compatibility problem of the processor in your query, as well as others that are close to that series, or even more modern generations. They generally refer to security flaws in their architecture and because the motherboards where they are installed support the Legacy/UEFI BIOS type and are not native UEFI (without LEGACY).

For Windows 11 secure boot, as well as other native security mechanisms that are loaded even before loading the BIOS, is something necessary, since Microsoft does not want the system Kernel to be vulnerable and currently, and since 2018, they have been detected. vulnerabilities in the architecture of all brand processors (intel, amd, etc.). This partly explains why Apple started manufacturing its own M-series processors again and abandoned the use of Intel (it does not mean that this manufacturer solves the security problem discovered in 2018. This flaw also affects graphics processors (GPU's).

To know more about the topic, please search the web for news related to Meltdown and Specter xploit vulnerabilities.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, it is possible to install Windows 11 on any machine that meets the minimum requirements even if the processor does not appear on the official list. To do this, download the ISO image from the official Microsoft website and the latest version of the rufus tool. to create a bootable USB or Windows 11 installer USB drive.

Load the ISO image from rufus, you will need a USB drive of at least 8GB, when you click on "ready", check the options:

    Avoid Secure BOOT.

    Disable TPM check.

Override the internet connection requirement to create the user account, and that's it.

Keep in mind that any incompatible hardware can even be destroyed (become obsolete) if a security flaw is detected in which the hardware manufacturer has not applied any firmware update or fix.

My recommendation, before installing Windows 11, is that you check the page of the hardware manufacturer of your computer if there is any firmware update, if it is with Intel CPU, check the ME and BIOS firmware update, if there are both updates, apply first intel ME firmware update and then apply BIOS update. To do this, you will need to know the model and revision of your system, and in some cases, the part or serial number of your system, usually on the base cover if it is a laptop.

If there is any firmware update, be careful not to cancel any of these updates, both are done separately and require a system restart, so you must have power at all times, the battery and the power adapter must be in good condition.

Arm yourself with patience, do not interrupt the process even when the equipment seems to have turned off or you receive noises or led lights that you never noticed before. It is a delicate process.

It is understood that the reader remains under his own responsibility.

A rookie mistake is to go to an unofficial link and download an ISO image or Windows 11 installer that is not certified and has been modified with malware so that you can enjoy the wonders of this version of Windows.

I do not recommend installing Windows 11 if you think gaming will be better, if your computer is not directx12 compliant you will waste your time and have a hard time.

After Windows 11 installation is complete, go to Settings and Windows Update and download all updates. These will even download all tested drivers on your system.

If your computer is a brand (Asus, Lenovo, HP, etc.), visit the Microsoft Store and check if there is the manufacturer's application for assistance and customer support, for example: Asus; use the MyAsus app; Lenovo, Lenovo Vantage, etc.

    Good luck!

    ¡Mucha Suerte!
