Windows Update issue (failed to install) , 0x80070643

Question

Dear All, kindly asking for help regarding Windows updates on our Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers , we have some computers not able to install monthly updates and stay on the retry state Error code is : 0x80070643 I have tried to fix Windows with sfc/ scannow , chkdsk c: /f cleaned the Windows update repositories reset the services the issue is still happening and Windows updates not get installed on some computers any idea? Thanks

Same issue on an extremely clean and new Windows 10 Pro installation. Flow_p's link to the already reported problem was useful. The inner solution was changing the recovery partition size. I followed this guide exactly and rebooted, and the update installed:

I tried the very complicated workaround and had zero success. And, I tried this over 3-4 days. Through sheer frustration, I overcame this problem by installing Tiny11 - produced by NTDEV as a de-bloated Windows 11 installation. https://archive.org/details/tiny-11-NTDEV I downloaded Tiny11 and used 7-Zip to expand the ".iso" file into a separate subdirectory I named "tiny11 b2(no sysreq)". This takes up 3.63GB as compared to 6.63GB for Microsoft Win11_EnglishInternational_x64v2.iso My Tiny11 upgrade takes up 210GB on my hard drive. This includes all of my documents and gaming files. So far everything seems to function perfectly OK. My second solution to this problem was to try installing the Windows 10 Pro upgrade to Windows 11 Pro using an older build. I used 21H2 because I found it on a disk drive. It also upgraded well using the same system of unzipping the ".iso" file and running "setup.exe" and choosing the :Upgrade and keep all files" option. However, in this case, being such an old build, there may be security risks. There is obviously something in Microsoft Windows 11 23H2 which is "borking" the upgrade process. Hopefully my upgrade won't end in tears.

Boas gente paciente do Windows. Executei os passos descritos neste vídeo e o problema foi resolvido. Acho que não é difícil e resolveu a situação da maldita actualização. I have the same error with 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441).

EDIT: The issue is with KB5001716, but when I install manually it says it was installed already. Today I check the upgrade again and it just disappears. Looks like Windows failed to check if the patch was installed.

Resizing the recovery partition worked for me several weeks ago, but now it doesn't work any more even I've resized twice.

It's ridiculous that Windows cannot upgrade in their officially recommended way. MS should hire some professional programmers.
