Windows 11 22H2 Domain Joined and the minimum Domain Controllers domain and forest functional level supported by this operating system

I am writing to seek clarification and guidance regarding the domain joining requirements and the minimum domain controllers domain and forest functional level supported by Windows 11 22H2.

Currently we planning an upgrade to Windows 11 22H2 for client machines.
Windows Server Domain Controllers environment with a domain and forest functional level of Windows Server 2008 is supported for this scenario ? .

To facilitate a smooth transition and avoid any potential compatibility issues, we kindly request your assistance in addressing the following:

What is the minimum domain functional level required for Windows 11 22H2 domain joining?

What is the minimum forest functional level required for Windows 11 22H2 domain joining?

Are there any specific considerations or limitations regarding the forest & domain functional level ?

All of them are supported and should be no problem, but keep in mind you can't raise the domain functional level higher than the operating system of the lowest domain controller. You can read on here about features of different levels.

Windows 11 22H2 Client OS Domain joining requirements and DCs Minimum DFL/FFL are :

• Minimum Supported Domain Controllers OS is Windows Server 200x or 201x or 2022 ?

with Minimum Supported DFL/FFL for Windows 11 22H2 Client OS Domain joining are :

• Minimum Supported Domain Functional Level : 200x or 201x ( Such as 2003 2008 or 2016 ) ?
• Minimum Supported Forest Functional Level : 200x or 201x ( Such as 2003 2008 or 2016 ) ?
• Minimum Domain Controllers Operating Systems and related DFL / FFL Domain & Forest Functional Level that support ALL NEW Administrative Templates (.admx) for Windows 11 Update (22H2) And ALL related Group Policies Settings with Windows 11 22H2 ?
• As example ( DCs with DFL/FFL : Windows 2003 supports all GPO Settings on Administrative Templates (.admx) for Windows 11 Update (22H2) or Supports Partially of them due to 2003 DFL / FFL doen't enables all Relevant Domain and Forest Capabilities and new Group Policies settings that been implemented for Windows 11 ?

Be informed that Everyone knows that

DFL/FFL is been related with Domain Controllers OS

and with

Functional levels DFL/FFL setting determines domain or forest capabilities ,

But Its ok to Join Windows 11 22H2 Client on DCs 2012 R2 with DFL/FFL : 2003 ??

There isn't a specific DFL, as long as the domain controller operating system is supported you should be fine. Server 2003 / 2008 are no longer supported so these should not be considered.
