The switch for Bluetooth disappeared. I uninstalled it in the device manager and scanned for hardware changes, but it didn't reinstall. I manually reinstalled the drivers from intel's website and it still won't show up. Under services there are three Bluetooth related items all running on automatic. When I run the Bluetooth trouble shooter it says my computer doesn't have Bluetooth. My computer says everything is up to date and so are the drivers.

Using a Wireless Switch on a Dell Laptop May Prevent Bluetooth from Turning Back On

    1. Bluetooth may not be able to turn back on when using the wireless switch.

When using the wireless switch, Bluetooth may not be able to turn back on.

If you use the wireless switch to turn off wireless and Bluetooth and then reboot the system, Bluetooth may not activate even if you turn on wireless and Bluetooth again using the same wireless switch.

NOTE: By factory default, the wireless switch is set to turn off only wireless networks and not Bluetooth.

However, by default in the BIOS, the switch turns off both wireless networks and Bluetooth.

If BIOS defaults are loaded, this situation can occur.
    2. What to do

To work around this issue, change the wireless switch settings in the BIOS.

    1. Power on the system
    2. Press F2 at the Dell logo screen to enter the system BIOS.
    3. In the menu on the left, select Wireless.
    4. Select "Wireless Switch"
    5. Set the wireless switch to not turn off Bluetooth.
    6. Press the "Apply" button.
    7. Exit BIOS
    8. Perform a full shutdown in Windows for the changes to take effect. NOTE: The example below shows the location of the Wireless Switch in the System Setup (BIOS). Depending on the system BIOS, the layout may vary. Click the + (plus) sign in the menu to expand the available options.
