| PC | 1 | The certificate for a personal computer client. |
| Device | 2 | The certificate for a Device client. |

| CrlSigner | 5 | A certificate used to sign certificate revocation lists. |
| Service | 6 | Reserved for future use. |
| Silverlight | 7 | Obsolete. Use PC instead. |
| Server | 11 | The certificate for a server. |
