日本に Windows Azure データセンター開設を発表

オーストラリアのデータセンター追加、中国でのプレビュー公開の発表 に引き続き、日本に Windows Azure のデータセンターが開設されることが発表されました。

主要地域 (Major Region) となる Japan Region には、Japan East および Japan West、2つの Sub Region (地域) が含まれ、Windows Azure ストレージで ”地域冗長 (geo-replication)” と呼ばれる自動バックアップを行う先として、お互いにレプリケーションを行います。これにより、Windows Azure 上にホストするデータを、バックアップを含めて日本国内で保持することが可能になります。また、日本、オーストラリア、中国、とアジア太平洋地域の データセンターが強化されることになります。
