DefaultLogonDomain Metabase Property

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 with SP1

In Web, FTP, and NNTP servers, the DefaultLogonDomain property is used to specify the default domain that the server uses to authenticate users (in a Web hosting scenario where UserIsolationMode = 2). If the value of DefaultLogonDomain is not specified, the default domain will be the domain name controlled by the computer, if the computer is a domain controller. If the computer is not a domain controller, the default domain will be the computer name.

In the case of FTP, IIS uses this domain name to query the corresponding Active Directory for the two properties required for each user in the Web hosting scenario: msIIS-FTPRoot and msIIS-FTPDir.
