MOM 2000 SP1 and MOM 2005 SP1 Interoperability
There are varying degrees of interoperability between MOM 2000 SP1 and MOM 2005 SP1 components to support rolling upgrades in a distributed MOM environment. Table 14.1 and Table 14.2 describe which MOM 2000 SP1 components can communicate with which MOM 2005 SP1 components.

Notes:
1) For a MOM 2000 SP1 DCAM to communicate with a MOM 2005 SP1 agent, you must import a special MOM 2005 SP1 Transition Management Pack onto the MOM 2000 SP1 configuration group. Some Reports might not work properly because they require Service Discovery, which is available only in MOM 2005 SP1.

If any MOM 2000 SP1 server components are installed on a computer, you cannot install the MOM 2005 SP1 agent. If a MOM 2000 SP1 agent is installed on a computer, you cannot install any MOM 2005 SP1 server component. Table 15 indicates the MOM 2005 SP1 Setup behavior that occurs when you attempt to install MOM 2005 SP1 components on a computer that has MOM 2000 SP1 components.
