  • [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException]
    The server does not allow properties of the field to be changed. Error code: -2146232832.
  • NotSupportedException
    Value is changed to a non-null or non-empty value, and the list is an external list. Error code: -1.

Remarks

It must be null, empty, or an XML fragment that conforms to the FieldDefinition type. A field definition describes the structure and format of a field that is used within a list or content type.
