By supporting the ability to function as a remote access client, Windows Mobile-based devices can dial into remote access servers by using one of the following authentication protocols:

  • Password Authentication Protocol (PAP)
  • Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP)
  • Microsoft Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (MS-CHAP)
  • Microsoft Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol version 2.0 (MSCHAPv2)
