Sound Player

Sound Player - Icon

The Sound Player service plays sounds. Using the Play request, it can play a .wav sound file. It also supports playing the sounds assigned to the Windows system sounds Asterisk, Beep, Critical, Exclamation and Question.

The service provides the following requests.

Request	Description
AsteriskSound	Plays the Windows "Asterisk" system sound.
Beep	Plays the Windows "Beep" system sound.
CriticalStopSound	Plays the Windows "CriticalStop" system sound.
ExclamationSound	Plays the Windows "Exclamation" system sound.
PlaySound	Plays the specified .wav sound file.
QuestionSound	Plays the Windows "Question" system sound.

All the requests have a parameter named Synchronous. When this is true then the service does not send its response until the sound is completed. When this is false the service replies immediately after it has started trying to play the sound.
