How to: Set Up Reason Codes

Reason codes are used to indicate why an entry was created. When you set up reason codes, you can place them on entries and assign permanent codes to specific journal templates and journal batches.

To set up reason codes

  1. In the Search box, enter Reason Codes, and then choose the related link.

  2. In the Reason Codes window, enter the first code in the Code field. In the Description field, enter an explanatory text.

  3. Repeat the procedure for each code you want to use. You can set up any number of codes.
