合併演算法會合併兩個已排序的順序: [First1...Last1) and [First2..Last2) 成一個排序順序為起始點結果。 這一版會假設範圍 [First1...Last1) and [First2..Last2) 使用排序比較函式。 如果這兩個範圍包含相等值時,會先儲存中的第一個範圍的值。 合併發生範圍重疊的結果未定義。
