Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Ken Muse

Who are you?891978_10151534115417422_997654216_o

I am a cross-platform cloud architect, ALM and DevOps engineer, and recovering polyglot programmer with more than 20 years of experience developing code in C, Java, .NET, and PHP. I’m a member of the Microsoft Azure Advisors, IEEE, NESA, and ACM. As a consultant at Wintellect, I help companies of all sizes to master DevOps, and develop sustainable cloud-scale architectures using Microsoft Azure. I have been a critical player in helping Wintellect become a Gold DevOps partner as well. When I’m away from the computer, I enjoy performing and recording as a session bass player, and working with artists to develop their stage presence.

What makes you “tick”?

I love to explore new technologies and to use those technologies to solve practical problems. It’s exciting to enable other developers to be more creative and expressive, and to help teams to create the next generation platforms.

Where you live?

I live in Avondale Estates, GA, just outside of Atlanta.IMG_20170415_120811

Why did you join this community?

My company, Wintellect, works on an ongoing basis with other ALM Rangers, so I look at them as top experts in the field. Thus, becoming an ALM Ranger is an aspirational goal. As well, I believe I can contribute BACK to the program as a member, providing feedback from my continual use of the tools and my experiences with customers in the field. DevOps and ALM processes are not a turn-key solution; they require understanding the needs of the people involved in the process. I like to help teams to discover their needs and then realize solutions. It’s exciting to find solutions that work across technology stacks and improve the process of software development.

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. SeeRanger Index (Who is Who?)for more details.
