Are those "here" links supposed to be links?Anonymous

The link is working correctly at the moment...Anonymous

People may be having problems with the link because the VPC 2007 Beta is in a 'Program' on connect.microsoft.com that you have to apply for membership in in order to get to the downloads. Note that applying for the VPC 2007 program has no conditions other than having a Passport (or Windows Live ID) account on MS Connect.Anonymous

It's still very buggy, for example, you can't install VPC Additions on a clean Windows 95 installation.Anonymous
January 03, 2007
Akuma - That is not a bug. Windows 95 is not supported. Cheers, BenAnonymous

But although Windows 95 is not supported why to remove the VPC old Additions for it? The Addition was done anyway so it would be a nice feature to see. At least VPC 2007 could include the latest VPC Additions for not supported anymore OSes in a separate file and not to make people searching or reinstalling old VPC 2004, getting the file, removing it and reinstalling again VPC 2007 cause that is annoying. It would be also nice to include a message on the setup program of the Additions for the unsupported Windows OSes. Greets, Akuma.Anonymous

Sorry but I gotta do it. "Why won't the Virtual PC 2007 Virtual Machine Additions load on Windows 95?" It's a feature, not a bug! :)Anonymous

Ben, Any ideas on VPC 2007 release time frame (other than this year <g>)? Thanks.Anonymous

When I change the size of a VM window on my Vista laptop, the content turns black and never comes back. I went back to the beta release that runs just fine.Anonymous

Sergey - Nothing that I can say on a blog :-) Cheers, BenAnonymous

Good to see that on XP Home it will install once you acknowledge the unsupported OS message.Anonymous

What is the difference between this VPC 2007 "Release Candidate", and the VPC 2007 (6.0.122.0) that I've already been running the past few months?Anonymous

How do i install VPC 2007 RC on a german Windows Server 2003 - all i get is "not supported Host-OS"?Anonymous
January 09, 2007
If you are trying to run on a server SKU other than Standard, this message is by design. Only the Standard server SKU's are supported as Host OS for Virtual PC. But you can go ahead and install (RC build (6.0.142) only, this was blocked in 6.0.122 Beta build).Anonymous

I installed it, created a VM and pointed to to an ISO CD image of Windows XP Pro SP2. It started the install, formatted the volume and started copying files. This is where it ground to a halt and basically became unusable. I waited over an hour and it didn't get past 60% copying the files. I'm back using VMware for the moment as it works perfectly. Microsoft you need to get your act together on this.Anonymous

The download link has not worked for several days now. It results in a "Page Not Found" error. There is also no "Connection" listed for Virtual PC 2007 RC. There is a link at the bottom of the connections page to apply for Beta membership, but I assume that is for the older Beta version, not the new RC version. Others have pointed this out, yet there is still no resolution. Does the RC version in fact exist and, if so, how on Earth do we download it? Thanks.Anonymous

I just visited the link at the top of this page about an hour ago, and it worked fine. Got the page to sign-in with my Passport ID, then it went straight to the download page.Anonymous

Ben - can you please tell me/us what is the difference between this VPC 2007 "Release Candidate", and the VPC 2007 (6.0.122.0) that I've already been running the past few months?Anonymous

Ben, I see that Win 2000 is not supported as a host OS. Is there a way I can bypass the error message and attempt the installation anyway? Thanks...Anonymous

I just got it installed. If you get an error, just uninstall windows installer 3.1 and let the system revert to version 3.0. This installer version handles the installation :-)
