Office 365 Dev PnP Core team extended with first community member

I’m happy to announce that we are extending the Office 365 Developer Patterns and Practices (PnP) core team with new community member. This is pretty big deal for the PnP program, since we truly want our community to be involved also closely  in coordinating all different pull requests and in the past our core team with permissions to approve pull requests have only consistent from MS internal crew.

Starting from 1st of January, our PnP core team will also include Erwin van Hunen from Knowit (@erwinvanhunen). Erwin is Microsoft Certified Master for SharePoint (MCM) and has been extremely active in the PnP program. We are truly excited to get him closely involved on coordinating the PnP program since he has showed to be highly interested on sharing his knowledge with others with constant high quality deliverables in the PnP repo and assistance in the PnP Yammer group. Here’s his submission card from the PnP repo from mid December, which shows nicely the amount of work he has put on PnP during autumn.

Erwin has made following key submissions for the benefit of others

Obviously all future submissions will be still closely inspected and verified with Microsoft product group, but this opens us possibility to scale the needed coordination work more efficiently and we truly want community to be closely involved in the PnP work.

Meet Erwin

Here’s Erwin with his own words.erwin

I started working in IT in the beginning of the 90s. Installed my first webserver in 1993, not knowing fully what I was getting myself into. Obviously I never looked back J. I have been working with basically every webserver on the market since then, ranging from the first CERN server, to Apache, to IBM's version of Apache to IIS. Half way the 90s I dived into Lotus Notes and Domino and have been working with that product for around 10 years.

Around 2006 I got in touch with SharePoint, after working for a few years with .NET. It was love at first sight. That love continued, and in 2012 I managed to get accepted for the Microsoft Certified Master program. I went to Redmond, drank the cool-aid, and as part of the program I attended lectures by the most knowledgeable trainers I've met. It was a very engaging experience, asking a lot from the students. The exams were by far the most complex ones I've ever done in my life, but fortunately I managed to pass them :-)

Right now I work in Stockholm for Knowit as a software architect, mentor and trainer and I speak at various conferences around world.
