Lost - final episode

In what is turning out to be an interesting experiment in the effects of mobile communication deprivation, I left home this morning without my Pocket PC. On the list of the "things not to leave at home" a Pocket PC must rank pretty near the top. From where I'm sitting, only the lack of a wallet (or some means to pay for stuff) would have a more debilitating effect on my daily routine.

So here I am, in central London, with no means to call people, no way to pick up e-mail, no idea what's in my schedule, no handy mapping applications like Tube to show me which underground station is nearest and which route to follow, no music to listen to on the journey and no RSS feeds to read. Fortunately I've managed to get online using my tablet PC so I am, for now, connected once more. But I'll be mighty glad to get home later today and retrieve my Pocket PC and the wealth of information that I deprived myself of in my rush to get out of the door this morning.

Note to self: don't ever leave home without Pocket PC again.
