Installing PerformancePoint on a Domain Controller
We get a lot of questions about this, so I'm posting, but please remember that installing on a Domain Controller is not a supported scenario, nor is it recommended for any environments except ‘Demo’ environments.
The security works a little differently in DC controllers. There is a class of issues that exist with many applications around installing and running on a Domain Controller. Since, Installing and running on DC controller is not one of the main customer scenario’s, we decided to block the install so we can focus on main stream customer scenarios.
However, in a VPC, for demo purposes only, this scenario has been known to function OK.
Follow these steps for the installation:
Planning
Planning can be installed on a DC if you do the install via the command line. Use SKIPREQCHECK = 1 switch
M&A
The DC must be set up after the M&A installation. You cannot install M&A on a DC box.
