Lost in Translation
I had a LOL moment today that I couldn't go past without posting... it really goes to show how technology could get you into trouble.
I emailed Frank Arrigo (Australian DPE Manager) and got this OOF message back.

I was intrigued by the shrinkster url so I clicked it to find an updating mash-up of virtual earth tracking Frank in almost real time... cool
Where did I find Frank... well zooming in positioned him at the golf course at 8:19am Sydney Time.
I almost fell of my chair laughing... I emailed Frank a please explain.
Frank's response:
The guys use a service by telstra that does a cell tower triangulation thingy. Its pretty accurate in the city but less in the ‘burbs'.
One of the towers near my house is at a golf course which is about 2 kilometre away – my place is the yellow spotch zone when I am at work, there is a tower at a local golf course too and I come up at the golf course.
I checked and yes Angus was showing up at the golf course at North Ryde by where the MS office is located... checking now it appears he has gone into the city for some lunch. I'm not sure I'd want people knowing my location so intimately but I can see how this tech could be used for stalking celebrities in real time... very cool!
