Students with an ICT degree can enjoy a seller’s market!
Businesses are actively targeting students through career days, intense advertising campaigns and student days to attract the best and brightest graduates. The ICT industry is feeling the effects of a sharp decline in I.T enrolments, which followed the industry downturn in 2001. Business such as IBM and Microsoft are battling for talent in a shrinking pool.
In a special report by The Australian Newspaper on Tuesday, the article went on highlighted the ever growing demand by businesses for talented graduates and the wonderful ICT job market that graduates were welcomed with upon completion of their respective courses.
I had my 5 minutes of fame, when interviewed by The Australian Newspaper (https://www.australianit.news.com.au/story/0,24897,23462224-5013045,00.html) in regards to the intern program that I am currently undertaking at Microsoft. They were very interested to learn that students with a non-ICT background can still pursue a successful career in the industry.
The overall messages are very positive for ICT students; you can expect to have multiple job options as you plan your career path in the Industry.
